TreeWalk is a software program designed to run as a system service under Microsoft Windows systems from version 2000 to 2003 (XP included), and aims to install a local caching name server on your PC to save the converted IP addresses from their corresponding human-readable Internet URLs, drastically accelerating the process in future connections and speeding-up you Internet exploring experience.

TreeWalk does exactly what it is supposed to do - it installs itself as a system service and configures it to launch itself automatically. It also changes the necessary network and TCP/IP parameters for you. Therefore, after you install it and restart your system, you do not need to worry about it anymore. From this point of view, you are not required to have any special technical knowledge to use this program. However, it provides you with all the tools required to manage the service, in order to start, stop, and reload it, show the DNS Resolving Database, clear the addresses cache, and check the service operation and status. You can even completely check and change the service's core configuration files, in case you are a DNS expert.

In conclusion, TreeWalk is a very complete software tool, which performs its tasks exceptionally well. Besides that, it is free - therefore I can only highly recommend it.
